About Us

  • Fully staffed 24/7 career department utilizing four shifts, each made up of one Captain, one Lieutenant, and seven Firefighters.
  • Apparatus: two engines, two rescues, one tower ladder, one inflatable boat, two rescue boats responding out of two strategically placed stations.
  • Responsible for emergency mitigations related to fire, rescue, EMS, and hazmat incidents.
  • Responsible for fire related codes in commercial spaces (building safety inspections)
  • Work hand in hand with community partners ensuring the safety of the residents through community risk reduction and fire prevention programs.
 

Vacant and Unsafe Structures

Per Chapter 261 Building Registry, Vacant.  The owner(s) of a vacant building are required to submit an application to the vacant building registry, using the form provided by the Fire Department (below).

At the time of application, the following is needed.

  • $250 per building application
  • Schedule an inspection
  • If the owner does not reside within 25 miles of the City of Fulton, the name and address of the registered property manager as required in C152, registration of rental housing units, certificates of compliance. The address must include a street address; a post office box is not acceptable.
  • A completed vacant building registry application

Per Chapter 262 Buildings, Unsafe.  The owner(s) of an unsafe building or structure are required to submit an application to the unsafe building registry, using the form provided by the Fire Department (below).

At the time of application, the following is needed.

  • $250 per building application
  • Schedule an inspection (Required)
  • If the owner does not reside within 25 miles of the City of Fulton, the name and address of the registered property manager as required in C152, registration of rental housing units, certificates of compliance. The address must include a street address; a post office box is not acceptable.
  • A completed unsafe building registry application

Programs available to the public include:

  • C.P.R./AED certification through American Heart Association
  • Courtesy fire safety inspection of commercial or private dwellings
  • Provide and install smoke detectors to owner occupied residents who are in need
  • Juvenile fire setters program
  • Fire prevention to school and education facilities
  • Fire prevention to elderly and disabled facilities
  • Recreational fire permits
